Can We survive without a Blackberry? I asked this startling question, not as a person who is trying to take away a toy from a 5 year old, but as a person who debates at times how technology intrigrates our lives instead of with our life! One would probably be asking, "well, if you won the lotto, would you give up the winning ticket if it meant....?"
I asked this type of question because of my niece and the situation she has no choice to be in at the moment. She is caught in a predicament between two people who can't get along, and Ali has to come along for this unfortunate ride regardless. Amy*, the mother, loves and cradles her daughter dearly, but doesn't realize yet the importance of the situation at hand as the approaching court date looms. The father, ex-boyfriend, (and I am only speculating) probably also doesn't see the World as it should be, and wants to gain the assets, the children, if only for the power like that of a Blackberry which sits comfortable in the palm of your hand. Amy would be the type of person to let the device rule her, and not realize the consequences it holds. She will let it make the decisions for her as if this were a computer from the 1960's-1970's that talks and rules the World. I say this also because her daughters birthday comes 10 days after the expected court date. Amy is not seeing, nor realizing that the technology of today doesn't fix all problems, and if she expects everything to be all right, well, that actual part isn't written yet (but my suspecious thoughts are opinions of mine-that Amy will see the depths of Hell come October 6th).
I pick on this product for the simple comparison of example. I don't want to misinterpret my thoughts or give the wrong impression to you within the lines of this blog. I am sure a Blackberry is a very fine product, it is that I don't want one because of the power it wells within the tiny postcard size length. From time to time, I become a people watcher. I can tell you this, it is not that hard to find people who have a Blackberry in hand or attached to them like a barrel of lollipops. This device is like that of a child, neither can't be put down, and one can't put it down at anytime for the next 18-21 years. It is with you wherever you go, it calls to your attention day and night, and it can't be left alone. True too, one is also a phone, so in times of need, it does come handy. However, what is/are the important things in life?
How can preparations not be made in anticipation of an expected day? As pointed out by the pictures of Ali that grace my Facebook site, my nieces smile can reasonate with anyone-even if she knew you for five minutes. Amy is avoiding parts of life and expecting the Blackberry to fix the rest of her problems. When Amy walks into court on October 6, does she expect everything to be taken care of? I look at the smile of a soon to be 1 year old, Ali, on October the 16th, and say to myself, "Ali, welcome to the REAL World!" It is hard to believe that a year has gone by that quick like the speed of sound and light. When something so precious is treasured, like that of a child, do we overstate our expressions of gratitude, and forget the true meaning of its existence? This is probably material for another blog down the road, but comparing Amy to Nadya Suleman does come to mind. Amy has of one child, and Ms. Suleman has 14, so I can understand your puzzlement and disdain. However, the point being is that the Hollywood lights soon fade, and the real work begins raising the offspring......the story never ends!

When I can find who you are, I will! You don't sound like a friendly person, and again, that is fine. I am just trying to get started in this World of Blogging, scanning a few sites (many), therefore, your thoughts are no longer my thoughts....Goodnight!!!
